This series pays homage to the photographer's hometown of Sydney, Australia.

"One of the elements that I loved most about my home town was its proximity to the ocean, and how we were raised to appreciate and enjoy the sea. No matter which part of the coastline you visited on a summer's day, there was always a variety of people interweaved on and below the surface of the turquoise waters." - Stephanie Alcaino.

About the artist:

Born and raised in Sydney, Australia to immigrant parents, Stephanie Alcaino spent most of her childhood finding a way to articulate her unique tri-cultural identity through the homogenous lens of one culture. 

It is because of this journey that authentic identity plays an important role in the undertone of Stephanie’s work. Her own personal journey of self-diaspora led her to uncover that diverse identities and perspectives are most powerful when they are understood through their unique esoteric intersections. Stephanie is passionate about the potential to unlock hidden narratives that are often left unvoiced.
